Being called a Pollyanna is a compliment, not an insult. Veronica Francis is an author, marketing professional and owner of the “Glad Shop” in Littleton, New Hampshire. Growing up working in her family’s amusement park, Veronica developed a love of laughter. She wrote a book titled “Circus Towne” about her adventures growing up in this circus themed amusement park. In 1994, when small business resources were hard to access, Veronica joined with other women entrepreneurs and founded the organization WREN - The Women’s Rural Entrepreneurial Network - to provide networking opportunities for women entrepreneurs. A few years later, she started her own digital marketing company in Littleton, New Hampshire. Littleton is best known as the hometown of the author of “Pollyanna”, the world-famous character whose very name inspires gladness and optimism. Veronica, always the optimist, joined the community effort to celebrate Pollyanna and in 2019 opened a Pollyanna themed retail shop in downtown Littleton. Veronica can be found managing her retail shop, promoting gladness through the online Pollyanna Glad Club, and speaking at events.
